Job Overview
Position: Associate / Senior Executive
Domain: Australian Mortgage Underwriting
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (IST)
Location: Chennai
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit loans underwritten by credit officers to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assess financial position, creditworthiness, and adherence to lending guidelines.
- Evaluate risks associated with loan applications and provide approval or decline decisions.
- Engage with stakeholders, including brokers and lenders, via calls.
- Detect potential fraud and ensure accurate documentation review.
Core Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of Responsible Lending Obligations, APRA, and ASIC regulations.
- Expertise in the 4 Cs of Credit and credit risk analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication and stakeholder management skills with a focus on positive rapport-building.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems and financial assessment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field.
- 2+ years of experience in Pre-underwriting, Loan Processing, Mortgage Underwriting, or Post-Close Underwriting (Australian, USA, or UK Mortgage domains).
- Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or similar role.
- Strong understanding of lending regulations in Australia, the USA, or the UK.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
