Role Overview
The Senior Duty Medical Officer is responsible for delivering acute patient care, conducting clinical rounds, diagnosing and treating patients, and coordinating with senior consultants. The role ensures effective supervision of nursing staff and junior doctors, smooth ward operations, and compliance with hospital protocols, especially NABH standards. The officer will also manage emergencies, provide advanced life support, and maintain proper medical documentation such as discharge summaries and reports.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include patient assessment, emergency management, treatment planning, documentation, shift handovers, equipment and medication oversight, communication with patients and families, coordination with consultants, and involvement in daily administrative and clinical operations to ensure patient safety and smooth functioning of the hospital.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must hold an MBBS degree with relevant clinical experience or completed internship. Strong diagnostic and emergency management skills are essential. The role requires excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, empathy, and the ability to work rotational night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
